Brittanytradesman.com was originally started by myself as a 'Thank You' gesture to 3 tradesmen I had become friends with when myself and my family moved to France.

I originally came from Jersey in the Channel Islands, where I grew up and started my career as an apprentice joiner in a large building firm.  After serving my time and gaining the Mastercrafts Certificate from the Institute of Builders I returned to college and gained further qualifications as a Quantity Surveyor.

I was employed for a number of years as a Projects Manager for a large building company and it was there that I learned the importance for all trades to have good team relationships and communication

After marrying my wife we decided to set up our own business concentrating on the restoration of listed buildings, specialist joinery and the manufacture of bespoke furniture.  The business ran for over 10 years and fast became one of Jersey's specialist joinery firms.  However, after the birth of our youngest child we decided we wanted more quality time together and so we moved to France where we already owned a number of properties and projects.

On starting some of the projects here in France I found it increasingly difficult to find the many different tradesmen I needed.  Eventually, after many months, I met and became loyal friends with three tradesman and as I had just completed a course in IT Advertising Management I started brittanytradesman.com to help them to advertise and get further work. 

Over time the site has grown with more and more Tradesmen and Artisans wanted to advertise.  We have recently added the forum, news letters and links.  www.brittanytradesman.com now rank in the first pages of all the major search engines and has a steady increasing flow of traffic.

For myself and my team (who are the original 3 members this site was created for) the website has exceeded all our expectations and continues to go from stength to strength.
